ICE's mission is to promote cultural entrepreneurship around the world by:

Strengthening cultural policy and management research through knowledge-building efforts.
Stimulating debate and actions to foster development and sustainability of cultural enterprises.
Promoting visibility of minority cultural enterprises.
Facilitating networks, convenings, and international cultural markets.
Supporting fellowships and training programs to encourage innovative approaches to cultural entrepreneurship.

ICE is committed to accomplishing its mission through field projects, public events, and ongoing research.

ICE's field projects support diverse and emergent cultural initiatives throughout the world. By providing financial and technical assistance, ICE collaborates with local partners to nurture creative opportunities. We develop, apply and advance research; train emerging practitioners in the field; and aim to create a global network of cultural advocates.
ICE conducts seminars, workshops, and forums to foster knowledge exchange within an international community of scholars and practitioners as a way to encourage innovation and strengthen cultural policy.
With the aim of building a unique knowledge base in the practice of cultural enterprise, ICE promotes and conducts research on the economic, social, and political impact of creative industries.
